Frequently asked questions
Can I download these patterns for free?
3 of 4 are free to download right from the pattern page. The remaining one is on the maker’s site: we don’t host it and link to the maker instead — free or to their shop.
Which pattern should a beginner start with?
All patterns here are advanced — come back to them once you have some experience. All easy patterns in the catalog are in Easy leather patterns for beginners.
Are there video tutorials?
Yes, 2 of 4 come with the maker’s video tutorial, which you can watch right on the pattern page. For example: Voss Top Hat and Bounty Hunter Cowboy Hat.
How do I print a pattern at actual size?
Paper sizes: A4 — 4, A1 — 1. Print at 100% scale (“Actual size”) with “Fit to page” turned off, and check the test square or a piece dimension with a ruler before cutting.
What leather should I use?
Clothing and accessories are sewn from soft, supple leather 0.6–1.2 mm (1.5–3 oz) thick. Makers often give the exact thickness — check the description and notes on the pattern page.
What language are the instructions in?
Instruction languages: English — 4. Even without the language you can follow the drawings and video tutorial, and titles and descriptions on the site are translated into English, Russian and Spanish.
