## Frequently asked questions

### Can I download these patterns for free?

26 of 27 are free to download right from the pattern page. The remaining one is on the maker’s site: we don’t host it and link to the maker instead — free or to their shop.

### Are there video tutorials?

Yes, 15 of 27 come with the maker’s video tutorial, which you can watch right on the pattern page. For example: [Tenar Belt Key Holder](https://www.leathercompass.com/en/p/creative-awl/klyuchnitsa-na-remen/), [Samurai Card Holder](https://www.leathercompass.com/en/p/leather-pattern-story/kartholder-3/) and [Flint Hunter's Document Holder](https://www.leathercompass.com/en/p/ledermeister/oblozhka-dlya-dokumentov-ohotnika/).

### How do I print a pattern at actual size?

Paper sizes: A4 — 25, Letter — 1. Print at 100% scale (“Actual size”) with “Fit to page” turned off, and check the test square or a piece dimension with a ruler before cutting.

### What leather should I use?

These are usually made from firm veg-tan or combination-tanned leather 0.8–1.4 mm (2–3.5 oz) thick: it holds its shape and takes a clean burnished edge. Makers often give the exact thickness — check the description and notes on the pattern page.

### What language are the instructions in?

Instruction languages: English — 13, Russian — 3. Even without the language you can follow the drawings and video tutorial, and titles and descriptions on the site are translated into English, Russian and Spanish.
